Once certified, you'll become a DoulaVersity Certified Childbirth Educator, capable of teaching your own independent curriculum.     Certification is for life! However, we also know that some people need accountability or an organization that re-certifies. Students have the option of re-certifying at any time for $175. You can contact info@doulaversity for recertification requirements.

    DoulaVersity has licensed a range of birth and parenting-related videos and documentaries to enhance the learning experience for our students. These carefully selected resources provide valuable insights and practical knowledge to support students in becoming well-informed birth professionals.

    Students can finish the online portion of their training in as little as 2-3 months. However most of our students take their time, allowing as much time as they need. Full certification depends on how quickly each student completes all of the necessary requirements.

    Students will have access to a Facebook support group, where other students and your trainers are there to help you along the way.

    Our childbirth educator training empowers students to create their own curriculum without the constraints of a non-compete agreement, allowing full ownership and flexibility in their teaching approach. Additionally, we will soon provide a PowerPoint presentation that students can incorporate into their classes to enhance their educational offerings.

  • Requirements for childbirth Educator certification

    Besides being at least 17 years of age, and having a computer with Internet access (and occasional access to a printer),
    there are no prerequisites to becoming a doula!

  • Birth Educator Training Curriculum

    Our comprehensive, self-paced online training will guide you through it all! We went above and beyond for our training content. We have eye-catching photos and graphics, videos and comprehensive content to keep our students engaged.

    CBE 101 has 12 modules with over 500 pages devoted to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and newborn information.

    CBE 102 is much shorter, (half the length of CBE 101), and is dedicated to teaching skills, communication, cultural competence, and learning how to build your course curriculum. Students will have immediate access to CBE 102, after CBE 101 has been successfully completed.

  • Upon certification, you will be a DoulaVersity Certified Childbirth Educator teaching your own independent childbirth course curriculum. This allows you to teach the content that you want without having to be confined to certain rules and regulations that some childbirth educator training's require.
    DoulaVersity's comprehensive and interactive training will provide you with ALL the tools you need to teach a wide variety of classes. From a full childbirth class series both in and out of hospital, to single classes such as newborn or comfort measure classes. The possibilities are endless, and so is your potential!.

  • Students have access to the online training course for two years. Should additional time be required, please reach out to an instructor. While most students complete their training within a few months. Our fastest record from registration to certification is 45 days!

  • Students must have access to a computer (not just a cell-phone).

  • Upon successfully completing their training and fulfilling all program requirements, students will earn the designation of Certified Childbirth Educator abbreviated as CBE (DV), through DoulaVersity.

  • While some hospitals are choosy about who teaches their classes, it is not impossible to teach in that setting with your certification. Many educators teach their classes at birth centers or create their own space to teach students no matter where they plan to give birth. Your training will provide you with many options!
